Texting is something all of us do every day – these apps can make it a little more fun!
SMS Rage Faces
Stick Texting (iOS) enhances your messages through a cute library of stick figure emoticons.
Line (iOS, Android) gives lots of cute “sticker” characters you can embed in your messages, with a few caveats: not all of the stickers are free, all of your friends must sign into the service to use it, AND there is a limit on the number of friends who can chat with you at any one time.
TextPics (iOS) which allows you to imbed ASCI Art into your messaging. It’s a paid app — but they are currently offering a free trial version.
The Textable Icons in Lango (iOS, Android) integrate into the SMS app – but as you send those Textable Icons, your messages are draining your Lango account of “virtual currency.” Once your Lango account is emptied you’ll have to re-charge it with a purchase through their store.
Pimp My Text
If you want to send simple attention-getting SMS messages without a lot of blingy-art, consider Pimp My Text (iOS, Android). No in-message attachments, but plenty of control over font-size, color as well as backgrounds will spice up your chats.
Fake and Funny SMS
Fake and Funny SMS (iOS) doesn’t actually SMS your friends, but you can schedule to receive fake messages from, say Barak Obama, John P, or Carlos Danger when you know they’ll be around to enjoy it.
