The Best Bags for Every Occasion!

June 10, 2014 by John P.

No matter where you go or what you do, there’s a bag that can make things easier. Here’s our big bag roundup!

Costco 22-Inch Rolling Bag – $99

I’ve been through thousands of dollars worth of travel bags in my life, and I’ve learned that the best bag money can buy is the 22-inch Costco-branded rolling upright bag. It’s study and has wheels that roll really nicely. Lots of pockets and pouches inside and out make this a very useful bag – it even comes with its own integrated garment bag, and built-in shoe-holding pouches. It doesn’t have zippers to provide expansion space – you pull a couple of tabs and it pops up to provide more packing room!

Costco 30-Inch Rolling Upright Bag – $129

The 30-inch bag has all the same features and of course some additional space, but this one just rolls alongside you as you walk. You don’t have to tilt it and drag it behind you (although you can). I thought rolling it beside me wasn’t going to work, but I was wrong. It’s GREAT! You can also drag it behind you like normal if that’s what you want to do.

Unfortunately, these bags aren’t on Costco’s website so you’ll have to find them in a regular Costco store, but they are well worth hunting down.

Tylt Energi Backpack – $129

The Tylt Energi zips open right down the middle so you can send it flat through the security check point x-ray machine. It carries its own 10,400 mAh battery to make recharging on the go easy. You can charge 3 devices at once and you get 13 pockets to keep them, and all your other stuff, organized. Routing channels let you run your cables around the bag without tangling. And the battery can be turned on or off – if it’s on, you can just plug stuff in and it starts charging.

Glo Bag – $119

This is the greatest gym bag that I’ve ever dreamt of in my life. The handle is solid and heavy-duty. That quality of construction is everywhere in this bag. And it’s the perfect size to fit in a gym locker. Inside, there are good dividers to keep everything separated. It’s a backpack, but it’s much deeper than you usually see in backpacks.

Smart Shake Shaker Cup – $12

If you have fitness drinks that are made from powders, you need a shaker cup. This will let you keep your water in one section and your powder in another until the time comes to mix them up. And it has a built-in strainer to make sure you don’t get stuck with any lumps unmixed in your drink.

Ogio Aquatech Golf Bag – $250

If you’re a golfer, you know the importance of a good bag to carry your clubs. The Ogio Aquatech Golf Bag is extremely waterproof, right down to the seams and the zippers. The zippers also have nice handles that are easy to grab on to. Lots of zippered pouches and pockets! The club slots are nicely padded to keep your clubs safe and organized.

I’ve traveled all over the world. Here’s the problem with buying the bag from Costco. Once the bag breaks after a year….warranty is over. If you travel and are hard on Luggage, there is only one company you should consider purchasing from and that is Briggs and Riley. http://www.briggs-riley.com. For one simple reason…….LIFETIME WARRANTY. If they can’t fix it, they replace it. You will pay a little extra for their bags, but when those Luggage Nazi’s at the airport crush you bag and it gets damaged, you will be able to get it replaced or repaired for free. It’s the only luggage bag that I have found that will honor a LIFETIME WARRANTY. Also, never purchase one of those hard case luggage bags….those things always get destroyed.
