The Big Android BBQ Is Coming To The DFW Area

May 5, 2012 by Theo Johnson

Android + Texas BBQ + Lots of Geeky Fun = The Big Android BBQ 2012!

Android Texas-Style

Running from October 19-21, 2012, the Big Android BBQ is an “annual gathering of Android developers and enthusiasts sharing and celebrating their passion for the Google Android mobile operating system”. This year’s theme is “No Screen Left Behind” and it will focus on Android’s expansion into Google TV, Tablets, and other non-handset devices. The weekend will consist of presentations, speaker sessions and of course BBQ for newbies, enthusiasts and experts wanting to learn more about Android.

Originally hosted in Austin, the move to Dallas/Fort Worth area was made to improve the overall experience for all who plan to attend. The Hurst Convention Center will allow for more sessions, is more cost effective and can handle the larger crowd that is expected to attend. I’ve missed it the last two years, but now that it’s here in the DFW area, I have no excuse for not attending.

Help Is Needed

Planning is still in the early stages, but if you would like to volunteer for the event, contact +Mike Wallace to get your name on the list. If you are interested in sponsor information, contact +Aaron Kasten.
