Twelve South HiRise iPhone Stand Review

December 12, 2013 by Kien Tran

Leaving your phone changing flat on your desk may be simple, but it’s not always the most elegant way of doing things. The HiRise Pedestal from Twelve South is a new, refined way to charge your phone while showcasing it at the same time.

Sometimes what you need for your phone is a dock. With a dock, you can charge your phone at the desk and still have it functional as a second screen for messages and alerts, as a clock or timer, or as a hands free video calling setup for Skype and FaceTime. The HiRise solves all these cases by elevating your phone in front of you.

The HiRise works with a number of different cases.

The biggest selling point of the HiRise is not that it’s a very slick looking dock, but also that it’s adjustable to meet the needs of your phone case. Using a sliding support beam and three different levels of connector heights, the HiRise can accommodate just about any kind of phone case out there unlike most other docks on the market that only accommodate a case-less device.

What makes the HiRise even better is it’s also strong enough to support the iPad Mini, which makes for an even better notifications and video call tool.

HiRise - Clips

These clips adjust the height of the Lightning connector, allowing it to support different cases

The HiRise is very easy to assemble and requires the use of your official Apple lightning cable by simply feeding the cable though the assembly up though the selectable height clips. From there, you can adjust the support beam to where you need it to secure it against your preferred case.

The tiny tool allows you to adjust the support beam.

The HiRise by Twelve South is a simple and adjustable dock that works well and looks great!
