Update on Geek Beat T-Shirts

We’re about to send in a printing order for ALL the t-shirt designs. That means two things: Those of you who already placed a pre-order, your wait is drawing to a close. AND, for those who are thinking about it, but haven’t ordered yet – NOW IS THE TIME! Place your orders at the Geek Beat Store.

Double Telepresence Robot from Double Robotics

We’ve tried out the Double from Double Robotics before (here’s our review), and loved it. At the time of our review we only had a couple of wishes regarding charging of the robot and the iPad that provides the video connection – and both those wishes were answered with this new version that has an optional charging dock. The remote operator can drive right up to the dock and connect, eliminating the need for help from people around it.

We want to send out a BIG THANKS to the CEA for sponsoring our purchase of these robots for the Geek House, allowing our remote staff to roll around the Geek House and talk to people here as they need to!

Dyson Digital Slim

How do you motivate people to get excited about cleaning? Just give them access to a cool device like the Dyson Digital Slim and they won’t want to stop! The digital slim is a powered vacuum, but it’s not much bigger than a non-powered sweeper like you see in use around restaurants and retail stores. It’s very powerful, but completely battery powered, so no cord to drag around. It will run for about 20 minutes on a charge. We also got a couple of the Animal version to try as well.

Dyson Cool

The Dyson Cool is a bladeless fan, so it’s safe around pets and kids. These fans will keep the Geek House nice and cool, and they’re very quiet. The assembly is also very easy. We’ve got both the 10-inch desk size and the larger pedestal size.

Samsung 78″ Curved Screen UHD TV

The Samsung 78″ Curved Screen UHD TV is a beautiful piece of technology. The first time we saw one was at a Samsung event at the Guggenheim Museum, and it really does look like a museum piece. The TV comes with UHD content so you can truly appreciate the capabilities of the display. The connection ports are on a separate unit, so you can hang it on a wall without a dozen cables running to it.

That TV is soooooooo cool I don’t think a vitally descriptive word exists for it yet. I keep all my cameras covered all the time, I have cool PJs Cali, but *I’m* not cool. That’s my story & I’m sticking to it!!! 😉 “B”

Focus of the camera went off and on in UHD TV unboxing but otherwise it was great.
I could lift that 78″ UHD TV with my one arm.
Dyson fans looked great and I would need those as weather keeps hot and this room not get colder easily.
Double Robotics are awesome always. I saw one unboxed earlier and still jealous for EricS for controlling one at LLHQ the old office
