Vizio has developed a new kind of space saving soundbar that still gives you 2.1 audio. The Sound Stand fits underneath your TV’s stand to maximize available space. The Sound Stand supports HDTVs up to to 55″ in size and 60lbs in weight. The sound stand has twin 2.75″ full range drivers in 55hz-19khz and a 5.25″ subwoofer with a range of 55hz-100hz. All in all, the speakers get up to 101 decibels. There are 5 different inputs: a stereo RCA, a 3.5mm jack, optical Toslink, coaxial RCA, and a USB port. For tablet and smartphone owners, the Sound Stand features Bluetooth wireless connectivity as well.

The Vizio Sound Stand retails for $249 at Vizio’s website and several national retailers.

Powerful VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand Delivers Best-In-Class Audio In Compact Design with Integrated Subwoofer

All-In-One Design Delivers Room-Filling, High Performance Audio with Bluetooth Streaming Convenience Ideal for Media Cabinets, Bedrooms, Dorms and Other Confined Spaces

Irvine, CA — July 30, 2014 — VIZIO, America’s #1 Sound Bar company, today announced the launch of its latest home audio solution, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand. Designed for living areas with limited table or counter space but in need of big, high performance audio, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand is an ideal solution, delivering an outstanding virtual surround sound experience with tremendous bass. This latest addition to VIZIO’s audio collection is now available with an MSRP of $249.99.

Great for tighter spaces like dens, dorm rooms or traditional media cabinets, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand provides a convenient audio upgrade for TVs up to 55” class. With a beautifully simple, yet sturdy design that measures only 3” in height, the sound stand was developed to support the weight of TVs up to 60 lbs. With all cables included in the box, users will appreciate an easy, streamlined set-up quickly transforming areas where a traditional sound bar wouldn’t fit, offering a complete home theater for a full audio experience.

While the 2.1 Sound Stand is an excellent complement to HDTVs, it also conveniently functions as a stand-alone audio system for Bluetooth streaming. Consumers can place the sound stand in a bedroom, kitchen or living room without a TV and easily stream their favorite music via Bluetooth from their smartphone or tablet. This feature serves as a great way to fill compact rooms with full, rich audio with deep bass performance, making the 2.1 Sound Stand perfect for parties and other get-togethers.

“As the sound bar category leader, we’re committed to delivering high-quality audio performance, with solutions that meet consumers’ needs and accommodate all rooms in the home,” said Matt McRae, Chief Technology Officer, VIZIO. “The new 2.1 Sound Stand offers extensive bass output with its built-in subwoofer and is the versatile option consumers have been looking for. Outperforming other competitive options in its class, our sound stand delivers an unparalleled audio experience and saves on space.”

When compared to competitive units in its class, the VIZIO sound stand greatly outperforms, delivering unbeatable audio performance for its size – without distortion – to produce measurable output at a low frequency of 32 Hz3. Equipped with a powerful 5.25” subwoofer, VIZIO’s 2.1 Sound Stand pumps out smooth, thunderous bass with low frequency responses that reach as low as 55 Hz. In addition, the VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand produces bass levels of +5 dB (at 63 Hz) and +15 dB (at 40 Hz) above competitive products3, providing consumers with superior audio performance when stacked up against the competition. Combine that with up to 101 dB volume with less than 1% total harmonic distortion2, and consumers now have access to rich, cinematic sound regardless of room size. The VIZIO 2.1 Sound Stand is engineered with the latest in sound enhancement technologies, featuring Dolby® Digital, DTS TruSurround™, DTS TruVolume™ and DTS Studio Sound™.

The latest offering from America’s #1 sound bar company1 joins the 54” 5.1 and 38” 5.1 Sound Bars and is available now at SamsClub.com, Amazon.com and VIZIO.com, and will continue to roll out to additional retailers such as Sam’s Club, Costco.com, Target.com and Walmart.com. The 2.1 Sound Stand (S2121w-D0) is offered at an MSRP of $249.99.
