Welcome to the Geek House Grand Opening!

August 6, 2014 by giovanni

The Geek House is open and we had quite a party on Friday, August 1. We live streamed all the events of the evening for over five hours! If you weren’t able to catch it live, we’ve got it for you here, in a slightly trimmed down form.

We had some amazing guests, live and on Skype, including Patrick Norton, Leo Laporte, Alex Lindsay, Dan Pidgeon, Phil Nickinson, Jeff Dwelle, Todd Abrams, Chris Pirillo, and Tom Merritt. Sending their best wishes along in recorded messages were Jason Carne, Trey Ratcliff, Jeffrey Hayzlett, and Jeffrey Powers.

After the show we we treated to awesome musical performances from Philip Nelson, Daria Musk, and Steve Thompson.

Thanks to all the awesome companies and organizations that contributed to the smashing success of the party: UpDesk, Deep Eddy Vodka, Instacube, GM, iOgrapher, Interlogix, Brooke at Time Warner Cable, Ustream, Ubiquiti, AfterShokz, Wicked Lasers, CEA, iRobot, Dyson, Hyper, Bell’O Digital, Zico Coconut Water, Tylt, Seidio, Oberto, Whoosh, Monoprice, Chatsworth, 45Drives, NewTek, IK Multimedia, Rebel Desk, OmniMount, Ergotron, KEF, Cheero, Elite Screens, Epic Frequency, Sonos, Samsung, Blue Mics, Special Fire Systems, Farmer’s Branch Fire Department, and Farmer’s Branch Police Department.

Thanks also to the rest of the Geek Beat hosts that joined John and I on stage: Michael Artsis, David Foster, and Scott Ellis.

The Geek House has its own website, too! It’s still a work in progress, but check it out!

AND thank you so much to all of you who watched on Friday, and have watched our shows over the years! You all made this possible!

Just got done watching the clip with Patrick Norton. Cali, i heard you commenting on that he has been on tv a long time. He sure has, i remember watching him and Leo Laporte on TechTv’s The ScreenSavers back when TechTv was a part of ZDnet. When G4 bought TechTv, they destroyed everything.
